NEW DELHI, Nov. 2—West Pakistani employes of Pakistan's diplomatic mission here beat Bengali employes with sticks and iron bars today as they were trying to leave the mission and join the East Pakistani independence movement.
Passers‐by reported that some of the East Pakistains jumped over the mission wall and that others were heaved out through the gate.
Forty‐three Bengali men, women and children got out. Some of the women and children were manhandled, the witnesses said, but the men received the worst beatings. Several were treated at hospitals and discharged, but one badly beaten man was hospitalized.
One Bengali, Hussain Ali, and his family were reported still being held inside the mission.
