DACCA, Pakistan, Nov. 17‐ A daylight curfew was imposed on Dacca at 5:30 o'clock this morning. There were unconfirmed reports of fighting between soldiers and guerrillas in some of the city's suburbs, but no shooting could be heard from the Intercontinental Hotel, where reporters and others were confined.
Telephone calls to several persons living in the suburbs produced no reports of fighting. One diplomat said that he had heard shooting.
Second‐hand sources said that the army had imposed the curfew to conduct a search of houses for guerrillas and weapons. The streets were empty except for military jeeps and trucks and a few escorted private and diplomatic cars.
