Pan American World Airways announced yesterday that it had suspended its flights to India and Pakistan as those nations reached fullscale warfare.
The airline has been operating one eastbound and one westbound flight a day around the world. A spokesman said that Thursday's flights were the last that would be operated into New Delhi or Karachi under the present conditions.
The only other American flag carrier that operates in that area is Trans World Airlines, which flies to Bombay. A T.W.A. spokesman said that the airline did not operate its eastbound flight into Bombay on Thursday or its westbound flight into that city yesterday. “Future plans,” he said, “are uncertain.”
