UNITED NATIONS, N. Y., Dec. 12—Foreign Minister Zulfikar Ali Bhutto of Pakistan told a cheering throng of Pakistanis today, “We are not cowards, we will fight to the last man if it has to be.”
The fiery Mr. Bhutto, who is also his country's Deputy Prime Minister, addressed 200 demonstrators who had gathered on the sidewalk across from the Hotel Pierre, where he has been conferring with diplomats about the Indian‐Pakistani war.
“Mr. Bhutto zindabad!”—“Long live Mr. Bhutto!”—the demonstrators cried alter the dark‐eyed, graying minister addressed them in his first public appearance since he arrived here yesterday. Aides have said he was “indisposed.”
The demonstration was in favor of the Pakistani Government and against the Soviet Union and India.
