NEW DELHI, Dec. 12 (Reuters)—Vasily V. Kuznetsov, the Soviet First, Deputy Foreign, Minister, held talks on the Indian‐Pakistani war with Prime Minister Indira Gandhi shortly after his arrival today.
Mr. Kuznetsov, who heads five‐man delegation, is expected to stay several days.
An Indian Government spokesman said that discussions here and in Moscow—where an Indian representative, D. P. Dhar, arrived yesterday—would deal with the question of Soviet recognition of Bangle Desh, or Bengal Nation, as the secessionists, call East Pakistan.
Diplomatic sources believe that the Russians, who vetoed a cease‐fire resolution in the United Nations Security Council that was not to India's liking, will try to persuade Mrs. Gandhi to accept a halt to the fighting once the battle in East Pakistan is won and not to try to push ahead in West Pakistan.
