NEW DELHI, Dec. 17 (Reuters)—All‐India Radio reported that Sheik Mujibur Rahman's wife and two daughters had been rescued in Dacca today by a squad of Indian soldiers.
They were being guarded by Pakistani troops who asserted they did not know about the cease‐fire between India and Pakistan, the radio said.
Sheik Mujib, who has been declared President of Bangladesh, the name given by the insurgents to East Pakistan, was arrested last March and taken to West Pakistan, where he has since been tried on charges of treason.
