DACCA, Dec. 24 (UPI)—Bengali students today issued the first, open challenge to the new Bengali government and to Indian Army officials trying to re-establish order in Dacca. The students announced that they would not surrender their weapons until the Bengali political leader, Sheik Mujibur Rahman, was released from prison in West Pakistan.
The announcement, distributed by an organization of students who armed themselves during the Indian‐Pakistani war, defied orders of Dacca authorities attempting to disarm the populace, establish civil order and end reprisal killings of non-Bengali Moslems.
