WASHINGTON, Aug. 15 (UPI)—The United States is prepared to recognize the new government of Bangladesh, a State Department spokesman said today.

“We have not yet been approached by any officials of the new government, but when we are approached I don't think there is any doubt we will do business with them, said the spokesman, Robert L. Funseth.
