Delhi, Feb.- 3.-Dr. MI. L. Sondhi, a member of Parliament, was arrested in Delhi today along with 11 other people demonstrating against the blowing up in Lahore last night of a hijacked Indian airliner. Altogether some 200 protesters had gathered in front of the Pakistan High Commission building and tried to break through a police cordon.
A Note from the Indian Foreign Ministry accusing the Pakistan Government of being directly involved in the hijacking was delivered to the High Commission as the demonstration was going on. The Note said that the encouragement and support given by the Pakistan Government to the two hijackers led to the destruction of the aircraft.
Meanwhile, Mr. G. M. Sadiq, Chief Minister of Kashmir, where the Indian Airlines Fokker Friendship was hijacked on Saturday, announced that his Government would impose the death penalty for attempts at air piracy.
Lahore, Feb. 3.-The two members of the Kashmir Liberation Front who hijacked the aircraft were under protective police guard today at a hospital in Lahore.
Today, the Pakistan Foreign Ministry epressed regret that the aircraft was blown up while talks to arrange for its release and return to India were going on.- Agence France Presse and Reuter.
