Rawalpindi, March 1.—The Governor of East Pakistan, Vice-Admiral S. M. Ahsan, has been removed from his post and replaced by Lieutenant-General Sahabzada Yaqub Khan, the province's martial law administrator, it was officially announced here tonight.
The move appeared to be intended to meet hostile reaction in East Pakistan to President Yahya Khan's decision today to postpone the National Assembly, which was due to meet on Wednesday to start drafting a constitution for Pakistan.— Reuter.
