Background: The self-styled East Pakistan Liberation Army claims to have opened several hundred guerrilla training camps for young East Pakistanis. The camps are run by men of the East Pakistan Rifles. In this film we see recruits near Panch Bibi being trained in rifle shooting, the use of mortars, explosives and hand-to-hand fighting. When their training is considered complete, the young men will be put into action against the West Pakistan army in East Pakistan.

999999,SYNOPSIS: The self-styled East Pakistan Liberation Army claims to have opened several hundred camps for the training of young East Pakistanis in guerrilla warfare. This one is in Panch Bibi, in the Bogra district of East Pakistan. The recruits are trained by men of the East Pakistan Rifles--and the basic training given is in the use of firearms.

The recruits also receive training in heavier firearms...here they're using mortars. It was near here two weeks ago that mortars from Pakistan were reported by the Indian government to have landed in Indian territory, along with heavy machine gun fire. This happened when a group of the self-styled liberation fighters engaged a Pakistani patrol on the border just inside East Pakistan. Now the East Pakistanis are practising with the mortars.

The young recruits are being trained in guerrilla tactics to be used against the units of the West Pakistan army now in East Pakistan. The recruits have to be quick dismantling the mortars, in preparation of hit-and-run tactics. They're also learning about explosives.

There are 800 recruits being trained in this camp. Apart from rifle shooting and courses in explosives and mortar, they're trained in hand-to-hand fighting... and blowing up bridges.

While these young East Pakistanis are training to overthrow the West Pakistani military domination of the East, others of their countrymen are fleeing across the border to India. The Indian government says that 1 1/2-million Bengalis from East Pakistan are now living in hastily-erected refugee camps in West Bengal...and thousands more are arriving every day, adding to the burden on Indian resources. India has appealed to the U.N. now for financial aid. In the meantime, some East Pakistanis are training for a guerrilla war.
