Background: A group of foreign journalists made a six-hour visit to the self-styled Bangla Desh guerrilla-held territory in the Jessore district of East Pakistan on Friday (8 October), interviewing guerrillas and villagers only 2 miles from the Pakistan Government forces.
The journalists were escorted to the border by Indian security guards and then taken to Putkhali village. The local sector commander gave them a short tour of the guerrilla-held area, allowing them time to interview and photograph villagers and members of the Mukti Bahini guerrilla force. Visnews cameraman Durgadas Chatterji filmed the event.
