999999,SYNOPSIS: In the Comilla district of East Pakistan, Government authorities have claimed that border violations by the Indian troops stationed along the frontier are increasing. They claim that artillery barrages have been fired from the Indian side of the border, Killing as many as 60 people since the and of October. The villagers told officials that the shelling had been continuous, and that many of their homes had been destroyed.
The claim of shelling follow recent reports of heavy troop build ups on both sides of the border as tension between Pakistan and India increases. The authorities in the Comilla district claim that many small villages have been completely wiped out by the shelling, and that action would be taken in retaliation for the incidents. They claim that the area already has severe problems in building material shortages, and that the damage is going to be almost impossible to repair. Meanwhile, they say, they have nowhere to live.
