Islamabad. July 5.—Pakistan has protested to Britain against “unceasing attacks” in the British Parliament, the press, and on the BBC.
A Note handed to the British High Commissioner last Saturday expressed deep concern ever what it called a smear campaign against Pakistan. It called attention to the so-called Bangla Desh Action Committee, whose aim was to destroy the unity of Pakistan.
The Note said Sir Alec Douglas-Home’s statement that Britain would withhold new aid to Pakistan until progress was made towards a political settlement in East Pakistan. amounted to an encroachment on Pakistan’s internal affairs.— Reuter.
