Rawalpindi. Aug 17.—An appeal for help for the “poor Irish refugees” appeared in. an advertisement today on the front page of Dawn, the chief Pakistan English language newspaper.

The advertisement for the Pakistan Society for Irish Refugees said: “Poor Catholics are fleeing from the British Army into the Republic of Ireland in thousands. Refugee camps have been set up to shelter them . . . please give generously anything you can afford . . .”—AP.
