Calcutta, Sept 3.—The London-based Operation Omega relief team today said it would attempt to reenter East Pakistan later this month in an attempt to distribute relief supplies to people of the strife-torn province.
An Omega spokesman said one group of members would walk across the Petrapole border, 45 miles north-east of Calcutta, and proceed to Jessore town, in East Pakistan, with relief supplies. Another group would enter from a point not yet named.
The first Omega attempt to cross the border was foiled on August 17 when the team members were stopped by the Pakistan Army soon after crossing at Petrapole. They were sent back into India after about 26 hours and warned that if they returned they would be arrested and tried under Pakistani law.
