Paris, December 5. Jean Kay, the young French-man who tried to hijack a Pakistani plane at Orly airport and fly 20 tons of medicine to the Bangladesh refugees, has disclosed that he was inspired to make this attempt by Andre Malraux. The author of “La Condition Humaine” and General de Gaulle’s Minister of Information, while disclaiming any connection with the attempt, nevertheless, approved it and says that if indeed he had inspired it, he was much flattered.
Malraux has been actively campaigning on behalf of Bangladesh independence during recent months. Kay told the police here, after his arrest on Friday evening, that he had written to Malraux three months ago to enrol in the body of volunteers which Malraux had said he hoped to recruit to fight with the people of Bangladesh.
