PARIS, April 14 — Thirteen Bengali sailors deserted a Pakistani submarine in Toulon after a near mutiny last week, it became known today.

The Bengalis allegedly tried to keep the submarine from sailing to Pakistan. Thirteen came ashore and left for Switzerland en route home.
