NEW DELHI, April 20 (Reuters)—With fighting reportedly continuing in East Pakistan to day, refugees by the thousands were said to be fleeing from the eastern province to India.
The number of refugees over all was put at 200,000, with half that number reportedly crossing the border in the last three days.
In the latest reports of fighting, the Press Trust of India said that the East Pakistanis had begun a campaign of sniping and hit‐and‐run attacks on West Pakistani troops.
The Indian news agency reported that West Pakistani Army units shot to death more than 100 civilians in Chuadanga yesterday after calling them out of their houses to collect food rations.
Chuadanga, less than 20 miles from the Indian border, has been named the provisional capital of Bangla Desh.
In a diplomatic development, an Indian Government spokesman denied as false and malicious a Pakistani charge that armed Indians with artilllery. support attacked a post inside East Pakistan on Friday.
