KARACHI, Pakistan, May 15 — The Pakistani Government said today that China's latest interest‐free loan to be used in shoring a precarious economy here will amount to about $207‐million.
Sources in Islamabad, Pakistan's capital, said the loan was not tied to the purchase of Chinese goods and that the money could be used for purchase of commodities anywhere. This brings to $307million the current Chinese aid. to Pakistan, the Government said.
In another development, Pakistan's Government reported that a ship loaded with 31,000 tons of jute and jute products had sailed from the East Pakistani port of Chittagong for Europe. The ship was the first to have loaded jute at Chittagong since fighting between Bengali separatists and Government troops broke out in March.
